The Yokohama Triennale Supporters are a team of volunteers who provide assistance and add another level of excitement to the triennale. The team is made up of a variety of people, including those who love art and an interest in developing the local community. Representing a wide range of ages, from young people in their teens to older people in their 70s, everybody will work together toward this common goal.
The Yokohama Triennale Supporters are nicknamed the “Hama-Treats.” The word “treat” means “unexpected pleasure” or “wonderful thing,” and also suggests people who love Yokohama and attempt to convey its “treats” through the triennale. The name was chosen from a list of proposal made by the supporters themselves. In addition, a free paper called Yoko-Treats! made by and for the supporters, we further invigorate their activities at the triennale.
Volunteers are scheduled to provide support for the exhibition in a variety of ways.
In addition to providing visitors with information at the two exhibition venues, the supporters themselves will organize and conduct a program to walk through town from one venue to the other.
Supporters will provide groups of visitors with explanations of exhibition highlights, precautions, and other important information.
Supporters will provide visitors with guided tours of the exhibition.
Supporters will provide participating artists with assistance in various projects.
If you would like to become a supporter, please register on the official Yokohama Triennale 2014 website or contact the Yokohama Triennale Supporters Office. We will be happy to provide you with information on how to get involved.
