Tony Conrad

Tony Conrad (USA)

Born 1940 in Concord, New Hampshire. Lives and works in Buffalo and New York.

Conrad was a pioneer of 1960s Minimalism in the fields of both music and film. In 1966, he adapted his experiments in music to the world of film with his work The Flicker. The work was an early example of Structural film, and still influences filmmakers today. After The Flicker, Conrad continued making films and film-based performance,
