Llorenç Barber “Naumaquia: Yokohama 2005” Starts 12 noon, December 18 (Sun.)

Llorenç Barber “Naumaquia: Yokohama 2005” Starts 12 noon, December 18 (Sun.) Conducted by the artist on the boat, the original music for the Yokohama 2005 will be played.

The artist who has been composing and performing orchestral music featuring church bells and so on, will make a concert with gathering boats on water front of the venue.
At 12 noon of December 18 (Sun.), in cooperation by Yokohama Bayside Club with the citizen and supporters on the boats in front of Hatoba, the play will start with a blowing sound of whistle. The music “Naumaquia: Yokohama 2005” has been composed by the artist especially for the triennale.

The digital audio tape which is the only record of the concert held on 26 October 2005 at Minato Mirai Hall and played by the artist, is sealed in the glass and has been exhibited as an art work in front of the hall since December 13, 2005.

Breaking the 100,000 visitors!

We came up to the 100,000th visitors around 13:00 on Friday 18th November.

These memorable 100,000th visitors are Ms. Machiko Maekawa and her daughter Chiho based in Yokohama-City.
All the staff from Yokohama 2005 greeted them at 3A exhibition entrance, and the artistic director, Tadashi Kawamata handed a floral bouquet and a special stuffed toy made by the artist, Taisuke Abe at the ceremony.
