Pacifico Yokohama, which is the landmark of Minato Mirai 21, is the representative complex convention center in Japan. Various events are held at Pacifico Yokohama, which consists of the National Convention Hall of Yokohama, the Conference Center, and the Yokohama Grand Inter-Continental Hotel in addition to the Exhibition Hall. There is a plan to expand this Exhibition Hall (from 10,000 m2 to 20,000 m2). We will use the new expanded space for " YOKOHAMA 2001." It's 126 m long, 81 m wide, and 13-21 m high, without columns. We plan to design this space so that it suites an exhibition of contemporary art.

|
Red Brick Warehouse No.1 was designed by Mr. Yorinaka Tsumaki as a warehouse in 1908 and constructed in 1913. Because of the strong earthquake that occurred in 1923, it was half destroyed. After that, the total floor space was reduced to 6,000 m2, about half of the original size. In spite of this, it can be said that it is still a superior construction. Red Brick Warehouse No.1 will be preserved as a historical construction that represents the port town of Yokohama and will be utilized as a cultural facility. "YOKOHAMA 2001" will be a model case.
