 tsuyoshi ozawa tonchiki house

Born in Japan in 1965. Lives and works in Japan.
Ozawa is one of the most internationally active
artists in Japan. He began making a series he
dubbed "Jizoing" when he was a student at the
Tokyo National University of Fine Arts and Music.
"Jizo" is the Japanese statue of the baby Buddha.
"Jizoing" is a series of photographs of his handmade
jizo set in various scenery. In 1993, he made
the smallest-ever mobile gallery "Nasubi Gallery"
and invited many artists to work with him. The
"Nasubi Gallery" is a wooden box designed for
delivering milk and artworks are exhibited in
the box. In the same year, Ozawa started a consultative
project "Sodan-art," in which he develops a work
through a dialogue with the participants. In 1999,
he set up the "Soy Sauce Museum," a satire on
                                authoritarian Japanese art history.
International exhibitions: "Cities on the Move,"
Vienna and other cities in 1997 - 2000, Taipei
