The Organizing Committee for Yokohama Triennale and Agency for Cultural Affairs co-organized the international seminar titled “CONNECTIVITY AS A METHOD? - The Future of Biennales and Triennales" at Yokohama Museum of Art on Wednesday, September 27, 2017. The seminar took place in conjunction with Yokohama Triennale 2017 and the General Assembly of the IBA (International Biennial Association) to be held in Yokohama.
In the seminar, Mr. FUKUTAKE Soichiro, the founder of Benesse Art Site Naoshima, gave a keynote speech, followed by a panel discussion with panelists from São Paulo, Brazil, Istanbul, Turkey, and Beppu. In conjunction with the international seminar, professionals working in the biennial/triennial/festival sector from countries including Brazil, Cuba, India, Mali, Pakistan, and Turkey were invited to share current issues in the discussion session, “Where are we now? What are our strategies? How are we to implement them?”
