	作者略歴 Brief record	90年代に、中国の先鋭なパフォーマンス・アーティストとして限界状況下での人体実験ともいうべき独自の活動を展開した。その後、世界各地の美術館で、自らも含めたヌードの男女による集団パフォーマンスを試みるなど、スケールの大きな仕事が注目を集めている。99年よりニューヨークに移住した。 98年「インサイド・アウト」展（アジア・ソサエティー、ニューヨーク、サンフランシスコ近代美術館ほか）、99年ヴェネチア・ビエンナーレ、2000年リヨン・ビエンナーレ等に参加。 Born in the People's Republic of China in 1965. Lives and works in the United States. Zhang was known as a radical Chinese performance artist doing self-torturing performances in the mid 90s. The performances were like an experiment on a human under extremely severe conditions. Later, he began larger-scale performances, such as a group performance of naked men and women including the artist himself. He showed these performances at museums across the world and attracted international attention. In 1999, he moved his base to New York. International exhibitions: "Inside Out" at the Asia Society, New York, the San Francisco Museum of Modern Art and other cities in 1998, Venice Biennale in 1999, Lyon Biennale in 2000.
