	作者略歴 Brief record	1979年にコラボレーションでの作品制作を始める。わざと日常のありふれた道具やステレオタイプなイメージを用いつつ、例えば鑑賞するのに制作と同じだけ時間のかかるヴィデオや、レディメイドに見せかけた手作業によるオブジェのように、一般的経験や科学的知識を逆手にとった作品を提示する。 97年ドクメンタ、光州ビエンナーレ、98年シドニー・ビエンナーレに参加。日本では98年群馬県立近代美術館「ヨーロッパの８人」展に出品。 Peter Fischli was born in 1952 and David Weiss in 1946 in Switzerland. They both live and work in Switzerland. Fischli and Weiss began making art as a two-man team in 1979. They use commonplace means and stereotypical images to produce works of art that incorporate general experience and scientific knowledge in an ironic manner. For example, they make videotapes that take the same amount of time to watch as they did to make and meticulously handcraft objects that appear to be readymade. International exhibitions: Kassel Documenta, Kwangju Biennale, 1997, Sydney Biennale, 1998. Exhibitions in Japan: "Eight People from Europe," The Museum of Modern Art, Gunma, 1998.
