	作者略歴 Brief record	映画の規範に則って制作されるデ・レイケとデ・ローイのフィルムは、その映像を美術館で鑑賞者を巻き込む一つの絵画として提示することで完結する、一種のフィルム・インスタレーションである。映画の手法を用いながら、私たちが習慣化してきた「映画を見る作法」を裏切り、同時にそれは、美術館で絵画を鑑賞する私たちの習慣化された「鑑賞の作法」をも無効にする。映像を意味付けしようとする私たちの努力を裏切り、美しいイメージの断片だけが提示される彼らの作品は、「合理的な解釈」を求める私たちの欲望が、救いのない病理なのかもしれないことを感じさせる。 Jeroen de Rijke: Born in the Netherlands in 1970. Willem de Rooij: Born in the Netherlands in 1969. Both live and work in the Netherlands. De Rijke and de Rooij make film installations. They make a film in the way ordinary movies are made. The work is complete when the film is shown at a gallery and the viewers are integrated into the work. De Rijke and de Rooij use common filmmaking techniques, but their works do not allow our common way of seeing a movie at a theater or a picture at a gallery. Our efforts to find meanings in the film come to nothing. De Rijke and de Rooij's works present only fragments of a beautiful image. They make us wonder if our desire for rational interpretation is a hopeless malady.
