バンボイエは、アイデンティティー、起源、系譜の正統性や知的・文化的財産などに疑問を投げかけることにより、独創的な作品を生み出してきたアーティストであり文筆家でもある。'80年代後半から写真、ビデオ、フィルムといった映像媒体を関心を持ち、かつて彼がグラスゴーで化学工学者として学んだものをベースに技術面での研究を進めている。
ドキュメンタXへの参加以来、国際的に高い評価を得ており、欧州のアーティストに授与されるヴィンセント・ヴァン・ゴッホ賞の候補者となってロッテルダムのWitte
de With（オランダ文化省所管）の招待による6ヶ月のレジデンシーにも選ばれている。

Born in Nigeria in 1963. Lives and works in England
and the Netherlands.
Bamgboye is an artist and writer that works with
the original complexities of artistic and cultural
production through questions of identity, origin,
authenticity and intellectual or cultural properties.
Bamgboye has explored various lens-based media
such as photography, video and film since the
late eighties, and has developed an in-depth understanding
of technology through his initial training as
a Chemical Engineer in Glasgow, Scotland. |
